Bob Cunningham - Trinity Together Program Associate

Bob has lived in Trinity County for 31 years with his wife and five children. For 29 of those years, he worked as a science teacher at Trinity High School as well as a football, track and field coach. Bob has made many connections with students, administrative staff, fellow teachers, parents, and community members through his dedicated service in education. The Trinity Together Team is very honored to learn from and work with him.

An avid outdoorsman with a plethora of handyman and survival skills, Bob is happiest when he is backpacking, hiking, hunting, and fishing in the Trinity Alps.

Joy Thompson - Trinity Together Chief Program Coordinator

Born and raised in Willow Creek, CA, Joy is a veritable Swiss Army knife of an employee. Having worked various jobs throughout Trinity County for two decades, Joy has not only fulfilled her programmatic duties connecting Trinity County youth to numerous job opportunities, trainings, and experiences, but serves as a handy-woman and IT technician in the Weaverville Office. Perhaps you might recognize her from her time at Plotzke ACE Hardware or when she served as a CTE Assistant with Trinity High School!

Joy is excited to bring her nuanced, work-informed perspectives to Trinity Together and enjoys helping young people chart a course into their own futures.

When not at work she enjoys spending time with her pet chickens and cats, tending the garden of veggies and flowers she starts from seed each year, and traveling rural northern California and southern Oregon with her husband of over twenty years.

Mary St. John - Youth Development Division Director

As the Youth Development Division Director, Mary works to support the Watershed Center’s diverse youth programs which connect local youth to the land around them, their communities, and career opportunities. She is passionate about empowering youth through education and experiences that foster responsible young stewards of our natural resources. In this position, Mary builds collaborative relationships with schools, organizations, and local community members and works to expand programming that links youth to natural resource career pathways as they plan for their futures.

Mary grew up in Trinity County and graduated from CSU Chico with a BA in Journalism, Spanish, and a Teaching Credential. She has spent the last two decades managing youth development programs and serving as an educator in Northern California. In her free time, Mary enjoys travel, camping, and exploring new outdoor adventures with her partner and dog.
