Northern California Prescribed Fire Council

The Northern California Prescribed Fire Council was formed in 2008. Since then they have established a steering committee, by-laws, and working groups focused on promoting the responsible use of prescribed fire in Northern California. The Council hosts semi-annual events bringing fire researchers, prescribed fire users, and community members together.  Currently, the Council is developing communications tools for prescribed fire users in Northern California and working on cooperative burning agreements that would increase the ability of  Northern California prescribed fire professionals to carry out burns given local constraints. They are hosting a training event in October titled Burning Together, Learning Together.

Join us at the fall meeting of the Prescribed Fire Council in the Redding area December 5th-6th, 2013. Visit the Council’s website for more information on the meeting, current events and resources, and summaries of our past meetings.
